Take control of your future
I'm Natalie Hiri, I've spent a majority of my career in the legal industry, and although I enjoyed my job I knew my passions were elsewhere. I enrolled in night classes and completed my certificate in personal training. Unfortunately, due to a few injuries I wasn't able to start my new venture, so I continued in my job until 2018 where I built up the courage to resign, and travelled for a year, where I volunteered with animal sanctuaries around South East Asia. The experience was invaluable, allowing me to grow as a person. When I returned to NZ in 2019, I knew I wanted to work with people, so I completed my Diploma in Psychology and Counselling. Sometimes I find life can take a turn which can leave us feeling unhappy and helpless; counselling can help us gain the tools to manage life challenges, build self esteem and healthy perspectives, leading you on a path of happiness. I believe everyone has the right to feel empowered.

Walk and talk is an exciting concept, I like to think of it as counselling with a difference; the difference being, we get to walk while we talk! I love the beautiful surroundings Wellington City has to offer, making it a great back drop to the session. For many people, the idea of sitting in a room opposite a therapist can feel clinical and intimidating. My personal experience is that people can feel more comfortable sharing when they are busy or performing some sort of action like walking. I am also passionate about exercise; so, the combination of being outdoors, walking and talking will hopefully increase positive feelings as endorphins are being released in the body, plus you'll increase your vitamin D levels. So, If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, my services aim to introduce clarity, develop your self awareness and emotional intelligence. Life is too short to get bogged down and discouraged. Outpower the mind because you are worth it!
Clearness of thought
Clarity makes understanding easier
Complete clarity of thoughts and ideas enhances the meaning of a message
Self-awareness is the ability to see yourself clearly and objectively through reflection and introspection.
Emotional intelligence is our ability to:
Accurately identify emotions in ourselves and others
Understand and manage emotions
Use and effectively communicate emotional feelings
Counselling means different things to different people. It is not a get well quick option, offering quick answers, but is asking the person to engage in a process and an exploration. There are many different definitions of counselling. A simple version is that counselling is a working relationship where the client is helped to manage what is happening in their life and to explore their life. It is a form of psychological and talking therapy that offers people the ability to change how they live and feel.
Many people go through times when they find their lives overwhelming or distressing. This may be due to bereavement, illness, family crisis, work stress, anxiety, depression, relationship breakdown and so on. They may find it hard to cope or not have the resources to deal with the problem. Counselling can help people to retain their self-sufficiency, identify negative thoughts, build better relationships and help them to make and act on their choices

There are many parts of this walk where we can stop and take in the views, it's entirely up to you.

A healthy self-esteem is essential for growth and achieving success. Of all the judgments you make in life, none is as important as the one you make about yourself.
We see self-esteem and self-confidence as largely the same thing: your abilities and your beliefs about yourself.
Avoid things that tear down your self-esteem:
Self-leadership is about choosing who we are, what we do, and who we become. It doesn't advocate for a selfish approach to get what we want at any costs. It also recognises that things do not always come to us easily but that our environment is created through us making choices and creating opportunities and circumstances.
The Four Pillars -
* Knowing who you are - what you believe in, what's important and your goals
* Knowing what you do - Your behaviours, your motivations
* Knowing what you need to Learn - Identifying learning points, Setting up a learning plan
* Using what you know - Building successful habits to support the pillars, creating an environment for success

“Out there things can happen, and frequently do,
To people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don't worry, don't stew.
Just go right along, you'll start happening too!”
